As Las Vegas constantly evolves with new restaurants and entertainment, Lori Wandzilak always tries to stay ahead of the curve. Having a wide breadth of knowledge about the city and being an expert in the world of service are two keys she must carry at all times. Wandzilak’s proficiency stems from learning the ins and outs of the hospitality industry as she began her career interning at Mandalay Bay in the summer of 2007.
After graduating college and returning to Las Vegas, she became Assistant Hotel Manager at The Mirage in 2009 and a year later was promoted into her current role of Chef Concierge at the resort. Nothing brings her more satisfaction than when a guest returns to the concierge desk reporting that they ate the best meal of their life or saw an unforgettable show because of her staff’s recommendations.
Las Vegas is a favorite destination for a variety of occasions and the concierge are at your service to assist with creating a memorable trip. For instance, if a couple is celebrating a honeymoon, an anniversary or seeking a romantic getaway, Wandzilak has a few suggestions on how to keep the love birds chirping while in Vegas:
* What type of room offers the most romantic setting for couples? By reserving a spacious suite, you will have a separate living area which creates a more romantic environment. Request the view you would enjoy the most, as many people prefer a view of The Strip, however, the pool view at The Mirage is breathtaking. You can even see the dolphins swimming around at Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat! For an added touch, call the concierge and request sprinkled rose petals throughout the room, as well as chocolate-covered strawberries served alongside champagne on ice, ready upon your arrival.
* On a dining experience that provides the best romantic setting: miX at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay has one of the most incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip and definitely makes a statement for an evening you won’t forget. If you’re looking for something a little closer to the ground, Prime at Bellagio is one of the best steakhouses in the city and just happens to overlook the stunning Fountains of Bellagio. I can’t think of anything more romantic than enjoying a flavorful steak and a bottle of wine with a front row seat to the Fountains.
* What entertainment do you think couples would enjoy most? The opportunities for entertainment are endless in Las Vegas. Cirque Du Soleil shows are all stunning and uniquely distinct. LOVE at The Mirage is a very vibrant and energetic show, but if you’re looking for something a little more risqué, you can’t go wrong with Zumanity at New York-New York. It’s sexy, fun and sensual – all ideal for a couples’ night out.
* On spa treatments that couples can experience together: Many hotel spas offer couples massage rooms so they can enjoy treatments within an arm’s reach from their partner. Another great option is to check with your hotel and see if they offer in-room services. Two massage therapists may be able to come to your room or suite and give you both treatments in the comfort of your very own space.
